Breathing…its something so natural that we do it all the time without even thinking about it or really noticing it. With this being said if we hardly think about our breathing at all, how often do we stop and really think about what is in our air?
The truth is there is a lot of things in our air, besides the good stuff that our bodies need to keep functioning, things like dust, pollen and mold, even noxious gases. Along with dirty air comes an array of different diseases. There seems to be a strong link between dirty air conditions and diseases/conditions such as asthma, heart disease and even depression.
Not to fear! there is multiple things one can do in order to try to reduce the amount of pollution in the air, well at least in the air within your home. One thing you can do is to be sure to vacuum and dust often, by reducing the pollutants there will be less to breathe in. Another thing is to make sure that your home is getting adequate ventilation by opening windows and using things like the bathroom exhaust fan. The best thing one can do is to go out and buy an air purifier. Be aware though when shopping for air purifiers that there are different types of purifiers. There are some that remove things like dust, pollen, mold and pet dander and there are other types that remove gases/odors. They even sell air purifiers that get rid of both particles and gases/odors.
