Thermostat Wire Color Codes

Terminal Designation – Wire Color – Function Description
RhRed – 24v for Heating
RcRed – 24v for Cooling
Y1Yellow – First stage cooling
Y2Blue – Second stage cooling
GGreen/Gray – Energizes indoor fan
W1White – Energizes first stage heat
W2 – Black – Energizes second stage heat
OOrange – Heat pump, reversing valve, energized in Cooling
BBrown – Heat pump, reversing valve, energized in Heating
CBrown – 24v neutral, common IEG
