There are hundreds of things to do in the South Bay to celebrate the 4th of July. There are phenomenal fireworks shows, countless parades, music festivals, and of course the unforgettable barbecues. All over Los Angeles and Orange County, people are spending their time celebrating America’s independence and the peak of summer 2014. Rose Bowl 4th of July AmericaFest
Southern California’s largest fireworks displays in SoCal with music and food vendors.
When: July 4. Parking lot opens at 10:00 am. Food begins at 2:00 pm. Stadium opens at 6:30pm.
Opening ceremonies at 7:00 pm. Fireworks at 9:05 pm.
Where: Rose Bowl Stadium, Pasadena
Cost: $13 GA. $25 reserved. $30 premium. $20 cash parking.
Palisades Americanism Parade
Old fashioned parade with entertainment and fireworks.
When: July 4th. Skydivers 1:50 pm. 2:00 parade. 6:30 pm entertainment. 9 pm fireworks.
Where: Parade on Sunset Blvd. in Pacific Palisades between via de la Paz and Drummond St., Entertainment and fireworks at Palisades Charter High School.
July 4th at Grand Park
Four-block block party in the LA Civic Center. Rooftop fireworks display and pyrotechnics.
When: July 4. Music at 4:00 pm. Show at 9:00 pm.
Where: Grand Park
Mr. & Mrs. Muscle Beach, Venice Beach
Bodybuilders, weights, sun, and Venice Beach. Contact them if you want to compete!

LAX Coastal Area Chamber of Commerce hosts a parade with over 1,000 participants and thousands of spectators. Who can say no to marching bands and floats?
When: July 4th. 11:00 am
Where: Loyola Blvd from Westchester Park to Loyola Marymount University.
4th of July BBQ at the Aquarium of the Pacific
Enjoy the Aquarium at night and get a fish-eye view of the Queen Mary fireworks.
When: July 4. BBQ 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Aquarium open 9 am – 10 pm.
Where: Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach
Cost: Aquarium Admission is $14.95 for everyone after 5 pm. Regular admission is $25.95; Adult, $14.95, child 3-11, $22.95 seniors.Aquarium plus dinner: $48 Adult, $20 Child. Advance reservations required for dinner.
Queen Mary BBQ, Brews and Red, White & Blues
Multiple DJ and live music stages, strolling entertainers and a children’s area, culminating in the spectacular 4th of July fireworks show. You must have a special 4th of July ticket to get on board that day.
When: July 4. Noon to 11 pm. Fireworks on the 4th at 9:00 pm

Long Beach Kids’ July 4th Bike Parade
When: 9:15 registration to participate, 10 am parade, followed by competitions
Where: Granada Ave and the bike path, Long Beach, CA 90803
Parking: Free parking in Granada Beach Lot for the event, metered street parking
Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Community Festival and Fireworks Show
When: July 4th, noon to 10 pm
Where: Exposition Park
July 4th Fireworks in Culver City
Live music, food trucks, family-friendly midway games and a fireworks display at West LA College.
When: July 4th, Gates open at 4 pm
Where: West LA College
Cost: $5 per person up to $20 per car for parking and festival/show. Walk-in tickets: Suggested donation of $5 per person, $1 for children under 6 years of age.
