Having worked in many offices, I believe that the aesthetics of the place can be dull and lifeless. Granted it looks new to the new employee for a few weeks or even months, but after a while of getting accustomed to it, it gets stale. An environment like that can demotivate employees and cause them to be unproductive. But that isn’t it. Working in an environment that is lively and spontaneous can lighten the mood in any office setting. A simple new table, new computer, better lighting, etc. can ultimately make a frown turn upside down.
Recently, the boss has been thinking of ways to make the office more lively. He came up with an idea to remodel the rooms. In his mind, this was to paint the walls, move the accountant to her individual office, get rid of some of the furnitures, replace some old appliances, and many others. And our reply to this? LET’S DO IT! In the next couple of weeks, we’ll be remodeling the office. One at a time. So far, we’ve been able to empty an office that was unused. We were able to place our accountant in there and as people know, accountants do a lot of work. So we wanted to place here where she could work in peace and still able to interact with everyone.
Up next though is the main office. Considering this is what people will often see, we decided that it’d be nice to remodel this as soon as possible. Goals in mind? Paint the walls, move the appliances, organize the files, etc. Complete remodeling.
At the moment, it’s a work in progress.
