When it comes to owning an air conditioning unit, one must also put into consideration on preventing it from being stolen. Thefts have been on the rise in the past few months, but here are 3 easy ways on avoiding your investment from being stolen.

  1. First, get a lock for your gate that leads towards the back. Most units are set up in the back, so the first line of defense is locking up the gate.
  2. Invest in buying a cage for the unit. This will prevent from the whole unit in being taken physically.
  3. Place an A/C alarm that can be either silent or loud. AC Watchdog is really good company that makes alarms for any type of AC.

One of the easiest ways also is to just be vigilant about thefts around your area. Keep in touch with your local neighborhood watch and be aware of what is happening around your block.
